    Lots of people call me up and ask, “what is the way to go for Executive Coaching Certification?”
    “Executive Coach” is very prestigious identity where primarily a coach is engaged to coach the top Corporate leaders, managers, executives, CEO, CXO, CFO, Presidents, Vice Presidents, etc. What the sponsors and stakeholders expect that the corporate executives get better in their behaviors and performance than currently they are doing. An Executive Coach facilitates the corporate leaders to tap into own resources to get outstanding results for themselves as per the parameters set by the organization.
    An executive for whom an accredited Coach is hired to coach, the stakeholder can be a any one – Senior Leaders, Team Member, Managing Director, Department Heads etc. who expects executive to perform as per the organization’s expectations. The ICF has set certain standards, norms, competencies and ethics that a Coach Training Providers and a Trained Coach must follow. IBM worldwide hire ICF accredited coached for their executives. Thus trend is that you need to have taken a Coach Specific Training, which is approved by ICF. This is where while you need to be careful. There are programs with approved coach specific training hours- ACSTH and there are programs as accredited coach training program- ACTP.  These are two different things.

     

    You could be attending an Executive Coach certification with 10, 20, 30, 40 or less than 60 hours as minimum approved by ICF for a certification but the institute may be not making this clear to you. Language plays a big role here and until you ask specific questions, you won’t get to the facts.

     

    The first option is a, economy option, if a person wants to attend an ICF Accredited Coach Training Program –ACTP (require min. 125 hrs. of training + ACC/PCC Mentoring + Coaching Session recording evaluation + few more requirements) , may go for, to begin with, a 60 hrs. or more than 60 hrs. Approved Coach Specific Training Hours–ACSTH. Here too there are few institutes offering ACSTH as part of ACTP. Most of the institutes have only ACSTH not ACTP. In this case person who has taken 60 hrs. or more ACSTH will have to go to another institute to go to PCC level which require one to complete 125 hrs. of coach specific training, and may have to learn new methodology which my not be inline or addition to the first choice they made. This may leave on lurking in search

     

    Another most important thing to consider here is what methodology, tools and process is being taught that will help an Executive Coach to actually deliver results and bring Change and Transformation.     Try asking yourself possibility buildingquestions such as:

    “How do I get unparalleled success?”

    “How to live a Lifethat bringsto me greater satisfaction?”

    “How to live in abundance and earn more money, be financially free?”

    “How to find a loving life partner?”

    “How to excel in life and be a model of excellence?”

    “How to become a world class cricket player?”

    “How to get selected in reputed management school?”

     

    Compare, contrast and do everything possible to create quality questionsthat you as Professional, student, homemaker etc. you ask yourself about creating future.

    Then write your answers in more details by asking lateral thinking questions such as:

    What else?

    What more?

    Erase Your Bad Past Create Future Of Dream – Part 3 (Using Time Line to deal with Lack of Initiative and Drive)

    Lack of Initiative Drive

    Whatever happens in gets stored as memory in your mind. All memories get placed sequentially in achronological manner and you recall these memories by time, date or year. Your mind also organizes these memories as events, emotions and experiences. Some of these memories remain in your conscious awareness and others you remain quite unconscious.

    When something triggers array of similar memories and you generate a response that you can’t really figure out, it is then your unconscious storehouse has assimilated the response that has pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised you.

    In this article I will explain the impact of unwanted memories on you initiative and drive.

    What happens when you want to venture into something new? Do you struggle to shut the inner voice that stops you “It is difficult” “ Success is not easy” or “Don’t risk”? if you are  wondering why do end up thinking this  way? Here’s a possible cause: these may not be actually your conscious awareness or thoughts.

    Check within chronologically or think back to trace emotionally charges event affecting you.

    Do you have some one-time and intense experience triggering feelings of being a failure?

    Have you experienced time and again like this and you have many of such memories changed into a generalization.

    Next step is to challenge your conclusion. Is it true that this time too the same results will show up? What thought is keeping you thinking this way? Do you know someone or somewhere the outcome was or will be different than you are imagining?

    You will find that by all means there could be no solid evidence that you might indeed be a failure in present circumstances. Work out what have you learned from this? What can you change in your approach this time?

    This will relieve you from the burden of memories holding you back from taking initiative or moving forward.

    Limiting Beliefs

    In the last article we learned how to deal with negative emotions or bad past using timeline. This time I will talk about changing the negative belief imprints into new and empowered one.

    Let me first explain the process of belief formation and then learn how to change them.

    Limiting beliefs generally operate out of memories held in your unconscious about unfavourable past experiences.  All such memories get embedded on timeline. At times one or several of memories linked together in some way form into a strong belief.   Thus some pictures, sounds or feelings that made you believe that you’re not “capable or competent enough”.

    Sometimes there are several of such experiences and other times there could be one of so significant event intensely formed into belief. Such beliefs imprints in to your Time Line or array that obstruct your ability to reach your potential outcome goals, or a simple behaviour you want to exhibit. You know them as negative or limiting beliefs.

    When such beliefs remain buried in the unconscious can lead to unfavourable mental and emotional conditions & if not dealt become almost unshakeable.
    Timeline techniques help anyone to get rid off Negative Beliefs. This is why Timeline based interventions have gained popularity the field of Life Coaching, Executive Coaching, and all sort of Coaching.

    The solution involves going exactly into that memory and learn from it. Then being in a resourceful state reframe and recode the memory as you allow the images, sounds and feelings to change.

    As kids, we have all learnt the process of filtration, right? And we also apply that every day in our life in simple day to day activities like having tea. While we follow the process of filtration everyday every moment in life in making tea, think:

    What are you actually doing in the process of making tea?

    You are actually passing the liquid tea and solid tea particles through a filter and thereby separate the liquid tea from the solid tea particles, right?

    So now, think again, what do you make use of?

    What do you retain?

    And what do you discard?

    Normally the liquid tea is taken for consumption and the solid tea particles are discarded as not been used.

    Now think again, if you have to make the best use of the tea, having the liquid tea is satisfying and meeting the purpose of making tea, simultaneouslyhow would using tea particles help you?

    Yes you can make use of solid tea particles as a fertilizer for plants instead of discarding away as failure, when you train your mind to never give up and think there is no failure only feedback.

    Realize the moment we began to see the benefits of all the things, then how would life be?

    In life too, everything that we do, our mind constantly follows the process of filtration and filters something in and filters something out.

    Now, look back as you work every day and you work hard to meet your targets, the process of working is the process of making tea, the liquid tea is the result that you produce.

    While the solid tea particles instead of discarding it as failure of the goals not achieved, if used as the feedback of your actions to achieve your goals, how would your performance be?

    So, how do you train your mind to make use of everything, in the process of achieving your goals, follow the below steps:

    1. Keep your goal constant: if you are making tea, and in the process you realize you don’t have milk, don’t end up making green tea. Let your mind never fail on the goal of having tea.
    2. Differentiate between goals and results: That is the solid tea particles are not to be discarded considering it as failure rather used as a feedback. The actions you take and the intermediate results of your action is a feedback and not the final result of your actions , make a shift in your mind by finding the benefits of these result as feedback and not as a failure of your actions towards reaching your goals.
    3. Change your strategy and not goal: Once you get feedback and know for sure it is not a failure and your mind will never fail, you began to re-strategize find new alternative ways of achieving your goals.

    Apply these 3 steps to train your mind which never fails, as there is no failure only feedback.

    Stress is Steering To Rear End Soulfully Seamlessly

    Yes that’s right we as human beings are champions in getting stressed and we steer ourselves to put ourselves in the dead end of life situations with our full soul into it and we can do it every time very seamlessly, right?

    Now think about it, have we been taught by our parents or teachers on ways to get stressed?

    Or is it our inborn ability?

    Realize, just the way you have the ability to get stressed, you also possess the ability to relieve yourself from stress, right?

    If there is day there is night

    The Good and the bad

    The Right and the wrong

    The truth and the Lies

    Human beings have all the potential to create something and also to destroy something, so does it hold true for our emotions, our state of being, our behavior and our habits.

    Now, let’s understand, how can we be calm from stressed state.

    Calm is Call, Alter, Love, and Mindfulness, here’s how:

    Step 1: Call of your internal state

    Hear, what do your inner voices shout out when stressed?

    What do you tell yourself when stressed?

    Step 2: Alter your internal dialogues

    Stop for a moment and not let stress engulf you

    The moment you start feeling uncomfortable, the muscle tension increases in your body and you hear the negative internal dialogues, just give a command to your mind: “STOP” and stop all the negative feedbacks from growing and increasing inside your mind.

    Step 3: Love yourself

    With the love in your heart, change your inner dialogues from negative to positive

    Realize and tell yourself just the way I have felt this stress now, I also have the ability to be relax and calm and give these commands “RELAX” to your mind and continue telling this to yourself.While you relax, feel the love that you have for your own self and for all the people you care for. As you love yourself more the more your mind can relax.

    Step 4: Mindfulness

    Find new ways to reach your goals

    And as you feel relax, now re-visit the situation you are into , and taking stress as an indicator, a feedback of your actions, think and re-strategize other ways and means of doing your task to reach your goals in the current scenario that you are into.

    Ask yourself the following:

    • What do I need to accept in this situation?
    • What are the facts of the situation?
    • Considering these facts and the belief in myself, what new strategies can Ibuild now to accomplish my goals?
    • Apart from the resources that I have now, who else do I need to talk to, ask support for?

    Using the above four steps, you can move yourself from being stressed to being calm and remember if you know to be stressed , you also know how to be calm.

  • The Human Potential

    As I walk down the streets, incidentally came across a school friend who was doing extremely well in life. With everything going for her, from successful business, a loving husband, a very supportive family to oodles of wealth and a plush life. Making me realize, she was living a dream.

    And then in a dialogue with another friend that picture of this girl just zoomed in,exclaiming “Wow! This girl is really armed with some potential to have everything going for her.” Hearing this friend immediately jolted me up and pointed, that the human potential is not merely measured by financial status or even accorded by professional ranking. To begin with, one needs to get into the crux of the human personality and continue feeding it with intellect, physical and spiritual strength to persistently better our potential.

    While there is a very thin line that demarcates good luck, destiny and human potential. Human potential continues to be a journey of hard work and unending bouts of determination.

    Realizing that the human potential is not only centred to oneself but also ripples around as the person who explores human potential, will go all out to better the lives of the people around him and her. Instilling or making other people realise their own potential in turn making way to a better society. As person with higher human potential continues to be happy regardless of how they look or feel, by incessantly evolving with a learning process fostering personal growth and development.
